Yesterday, we rolled out of bed and got ready for a little weekend road trip to Mystic, CT.
After packing a few things for our one-night stay at a hotel in Mystic, we got on the road and stopped to have breakfast at one of my favorite places: The Barn at the Bedford Post Inn.

Mystic Aquarium Titanic Exhibit
First stop: the Titanic exhibit. It’s a room full of fun for little Titanic lovers like L:
This is L and me in front of the iceberg.

After a few hours at the aquarium, we walked around the quaint town of Mystic, saw the famous Mystic pizza, and had dinner at a lovely seafood restaurant.

We bought some books at the local independent book store and saw the drawbridge go up. That was pretty exciting for L, but even better was that it went up because a sailboat with “pirates” passed by, and they even shot a cannon!
After checking into a hotel for one night, L and Don spent an hour in the hotel pool, and then we all fell into bed, tired and happy.
Today we have another fun day planned — check back for that post!
Have you ever been to Mystic, CT? How did you like it and what was your favorite things to do or see?

Hi Dagmar,
I hope all is well. Thanks for the info on the Mystic Aquarium. We are actually planning to do the same thing this summer. What hotel did you stay at? Let me know if you were happy with it and the name. Thanks! Love checking out your posts.

Hi Jen, I’m sorry, I don’t remember the name :( It was a chain hotel, nothing special, across from a large center with many stores. Have a great time!

Looks like a fun day. We went to Mystic and ate the same pizza place…but before the movie came out. Love that movie. I will have to check out the Titanic exhibit sometime soon. Always fascinated by that.
