Best Dollar Store Christmas Decor and Gift Ideas
I love inexpensive decor and gift ideas, so with that in mind, I headed to our local dollar store to see what I can come up with for Christmas.
It was a lot of fun to go through the aisles, and here are my favorite products:
Use Ornaments for Christmas Decor
Many of these ornaments would look cute under a cloche.
These little white churches caught my eye.
They are a cute addition to farmhouse or cottage Christmas decor.
Gift Wrapping and Gift Basket Supplies
Making gift baskets and wrapping beautiful holiday gifts gets a lot less expensive when every item is only $1! These cute gift boxes were even less: 5 for $1.
I bought this Santa Approved gift box for one of Landon’s gifts.
I always like stocking up on these big basket bags, shredded paper, and little bells that I attach with ribbon on the outside of gifts.
Find hundreds more gift ideas at the Dollar Tree stores and online.
Wooden Spoons to Make Personalized Gifts
When I came across these wood spoons, I remembered that I bought a wood burning kit a while ago.
I’m going to make personalized gifts for my sister-in-laws for Christmas.
Christmas Gift Ideas For Kids
These are three items that kids — and parents — will love.
Having an extra one or two of those magnetic drawing boards is a clever way to keeps kids occupied in a restaurant or in the car. Landon loved drawing on these for years, and he likes painting those clay figurines.
And this is an awesome educational toy I had never seen before that teaches kids about recycling, which we are pretty passionate about in our home:
I have taken advantage of buying educational toys and books at the dollar store since Landon was little, like coloring, math and handwriting practice books.
I’d rather pay a dollar instead of $10 for them in a book store.
Have fun shopping for your favorite dollar store Chrismas decor!

I’ll have to go back to our DT. It didn’t have ANY of that cute stuff when I was there. It might be because ours is kinda small. Great ideas, Love those little churches!

Great ideas, Dagmar! I love those little white churches. Which reminds me of a question that’s been roaming around in my head for a few days! Maybe you know the answer. There are these little white houses that folks make and/or display around the holidays and they have a particular name which I cannot for the life of me remember. I think they are maybe a german holiday tradition. Do you know what they are called?
Dagmar Bleasdale says
Hi Naomi, they are called Putz houses or glitter houses. I made some out of a toothpaste box! Here is the tutorial: https://www.dagmarbleasdale.com/2017/04/diy-glitter-house-upcycle-toothpaste-box/

Nice assortment of ornaments, Christmas decorations, etc., and at dollar Tree at that! I can’t wait to run over there and stock up. I too love inexpensive Christmas decorations because they can be changed often without causing a bit hole in the budget. Keep keeping your fans informed. I really enjoy your site. BTW: I don’t know why my keyboard is typing everything in caps because the cap key is not engaged but it is what it is!

Hi Pat,
thanks for your comment! It’s my blog theme that has you comment in all caps – I actually see it just fine here on my end, but it can be confusing :)
