I was invited to attend Martha Stewart’s Bloggers’ Night Out a few days before BlogHer ’10, and since I had another invitation that night, I made the journey to New York City from Katonah.
Martha Stewart also lives in Katonah — I wish she could have taken me with her into the city!
Don’t ever believe it when people in New York City tell you that something is just a few blocks away — I must have walked 20 blocks from the subway to the Martha Stewart offices, in heels.
And it was terribly hot and muggy that day — not ideal for my new Adrianna Pappel dress I had just bought that day ($69.99 at T.J. Maxx, not bad, huh?).
I was one of the first bloggers to arrive and got to meet Martha when she came by to say hi to everybody for a few minutes. I was able to introduce myself and told her that I live in Katonah as well.
She said hello to a few other bloggers, but she was mostly busy trying to tweet, which she does a lot.
I know, because we follow each other on Twitter and I trail her as No. 2 in numbers of followers in Katonah. She only has a few hundred thousand more followers than me — just a few.
Somehow, I didn’t really get to enjoy all the little appetizers that were being served — I was too busy looking at everything and chatting with other bloggers. I did drink one of these yummy drinks:
The view from the offices is amazing, overlooking the Hudson River.
I had fun, and I hope to get the chance to write for one of Martha’s 13 separate blogs one of these days.
I’d love to write for either the Home Design blog (I love to decorate with frugal finds, people are amazed how little I pay when decorating our home) or the Living in the Family Room blog.
Nice to finally get to say hello to you, neighbor!

Wow, you looked lovely! I love the dress too. Girl, you certainly didn’t look like you had walked all of those blocks! I would have looked like a sweaty mess. Blech.
I’m sure it was a lot of fun!
Thanks for sharing with us.

What a lucky girl you are, even if you did have to walk 20 blocks. Haha. Happy WW! Thanks for sharing and linkin up!

That is so fun and cool! Sounds like a great night!
(Would you consider adding Google Friend Connect to make it easier for Blogger friends to follow? You have a nice blog but without it my visits will be sporadic at best!)

Dagmar, that dress is beyond fabulous! You look radiant in it – the kind of radiant that one can only exude when they FEEL beautiful in their own skin. Sounds like you had a wonderful time at Martha’s party. I love her new line for dogs. Do tell your neighbor that I said hello. lol
Thanks so much for stopping by, friend. I so enjoy each and every one of your posts, even if I don’t get a chance to stop by and comment. Hope you’re having a great week. Take care Dagmar!
