I’ve been wanting to make my own snow globe for a while now, so I went to the craft store and bought all kinds of supplies, enough for several snow globes.
I started with a really easy one that took me only minutes to put together.
DIY Snow Globe Tutorial
Supplies:
- cloche or glass vase
- plate
- Epsom salt
- little tree brush trees
- miniature animals or figurines
I already had the cloche and the Epsom salt, so I just bought some inexpensive plates at Home Goods and little brush trees and plastic deer at Michael’s.
You could obviously decorate your snow globe with anything you’d like or have handy — little Christmas ornaments or bells, Santa or little snowmen.
After I put the Epsom salt on the plate and spread it out, I added the trees and deer and covered them with the cloche.
To make this a center piece for our living room table I put the snow globe on another plate and added two candles and some pine cones.
It only took me a few minutes to do all this, and I decided to not glue the cloche to the plate.
The nice thing about this DIY snow globe is that you can just undo it and reuse all of the supplies for another project.
Or I could exchange the deer with something different in a few days or for the next holiday season.
This kind of snow globe is so easy to make that it would be a fun project to do with your older kids. If you have small kids, make sure you display this snow globe out of their reach.
Have you ever made a snow globe?
