Dagmar's Home "Thrifty & Vintage Finds" Link Party

Welcome to “Thrifty & Vintage Finds” link party No. 89!

If you found an amazing deal lately, a vintage or thrifty find, then I’d love you to link up. You might get featured next week!

Until a few hours ago, I was scratching my head about a thrifty or vintage find to share — because I was busy having my own tag sale last weekend!

I knew it would be the last weekend with weather warm enough for me to want to have one. I wasn’t looking forward to posting signs everywhere, and spending hours and hours unpacking boxes and packing everything up again, but I’m glad I did it.

We made some extra money with things we didn’t need, all my boxes full of extra vintage treasures are well-organized and ready to be listed in my Etsy store, and I filled my car full of boxes I’m donating.

All the kids books and clothes will go to my girlfriend who has three boys and a daycare business, and three furniture pieces are sitting on the porch and ready for pickup once they sell via Craigslist.

Dropping off the donations at the Katonah Thrift Store is the reason why I do have something new to share with you: of course I found something that needed to come home with me.

I bought this mirror for $8, and the whisk was $1.

vintage whisk and mirrorI’m planning to create a wall full of mirrors in the Blue Cottage, and this is one more mirror for that project.

This is now my third whisk — I use the other two for decoration in our kitchen — but I plan to list this one in my Etsy store.

And I have a new, thrifty find I’m thrilled about — I unboxed it and installed it tonight. I found this Kamenstein Xtra Drawer Spice Organizer with 12 jars for $8 at HomeGoods!

It simply slides over a shelf, maximizing cabinet space, and slides out for easy access of the spices. It even comes with five years of free spice refills!

Genius — this makes cooking so much easier. I’m always rummaging through my spice cabinet for that one spice that’s hiding.

I found the Kamenstein Xtra Drawer Spice Organizer for you on Amazon for $13 if you are interested (affiliate link).

It was originally $40. I love having everything organized, and this little find just makes me happy.

I bought two more for Christmas gifts — for family members who love to cook and will really enjoy this spice rack as well.

Did you show off your latest find last week? If you linked up, thank you!

I had a hard time to pick just one featured blog again. I decided to feature Rita from Panoply, who scored this cute oil cloth Flapper doll head.

If you weren’t featured this week but would like to be, just link up the same post again, and any new ones.

Your turn! If you’ve picked up a thrifty or vintage find lately, I’d love to see it.

I’m thrilled about any link, but if you want to get featured, please only link up thrifty or vintage finds, and link back to this post. I also feature DIY posts if you transformed something that was originally a thrifty or vintage find.

And after you link up, it would be lovely if you would share this party — pin, stumble, tweet away! The bigger the party, the more exposure for all of us.

How to link up:

  • Link up posts about your thrifty or/and vintage find.
  • Please add the party button to your post {see code below} or a link back to this link party post so others can be inspired to join in the fun. Only posts with a link to this party will be considered to be featured.
  • No links to giveaways, or shop or Etsy sites please.
  • By submitting a link you are authorizing for your project to be featured. Featured links will include a photo and a link back to the originating site.

Hi Dagmar! Glad to hear your garage sale went well–nice to get things all cleaned up and organized, isn’t it. Can’t wait to see your mirror wall–what a great idea :) Thanks for hosting!

That spice drawer is a great space saver! I would definitely buy one if I didn’t have a pull out spice drawer. Thank you for the party! Happy Halloween and hope your week is great.

Hi Dagmar, not sure if this post applies to thrifty or vintage…But I did transform an old piece of scrap wood into a chalk board….LOL!!!!! HUGS from WA

Free also applies to thrifty or vintage, so absolutely :)

Hi Dagmar, thank you so much for the feature! I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’m having trouble seeing any of your images in today’s post (but my new link photo does display). Don’t you just love it when you can purge? It’s almost as good as when we find the treasures (that may end up getting purged, lol). I’ll come back, because I definitely want to see that whisk – I have a collection. Thank you for hosting thrifty & vintage finds!

Thanks for pointing that out — I moved servers this weekend and that was the problem. All fixed now — check it out!

Great, Dagmar, glad you got it fixed. As for the whisk, I was thinking the little brooms. :) But that’s a nice one – I like the yellow!
