Here is an idea for an easy and inexpensive Valentine’s Day tablescape with some unique items, like heart-shaped paper doilies.
Valentine’s Day Tablescape
I’ve been planning my Valentine’s Day tablescape for a couple of weeks now, always keeping it in the back of my mind when I was shopping for decor, and I finally put it all together and photographed it.

I love styling table settings.
Instead of a tablecloth, I decided to use paper heart-shaped doilies on the table.
There are many other options you can find on Amazon, different sizes and colors.
I didn’t feel like ironing a tablecloth or runner, and the paper doilies only cost a few dollars and look so cute.
I used the white Nicole Miller plates and marble coasters I bought at TJ Maxx the other day. That touch of modern works well with the vintage Valentines.
The little plastic heart boxes are from the Dollar Tree store. I found one near us the other day, and I’m so glad I did!
They sell so many unhealthy things I’d never use — like the toxic cleaners and creams and plastic toys from China — but you can’t go wrong with their paper goods and wrapping paper and calendars for a dollar.
This white jewelry holder was a $1 tag sale find, and I have been wanting to use it for something for a while.
It doesn’t hold much, but it’s perfect for all the Valentine’s Day candy I bought.
I found a similar on Amazon:
And I love this assortment:
Most of it is gone by now — Don, Landon, and I have eaten all the chocolate.
It’s kind of mean to tell them they can’t touch it for two days until I’ve finish the tablescape and have had time to photograph it, but they are used to it and really good about it.
The little paper mason jars are repurposed from last year’s Valentine’s Day banner.
I decorated our mantels with two Valentine’s Day banners and two new wood signs.
By the way, I just bought this new rug online a few days ago and absolutely love it. It’s a $250 rug from Kohl’s, but I had a 30% off coupon and always go through Ebates.com first, so that saved me even more money.
You can sign up and get cash back and even get $10 for free here if you don’t use Ebates yet.
This heart pillow is from Target, but you can find similar ones on Amazon.
It doesn’t have to cost much to put together pretty Valentine’s Day decor – I bet you already have a lot you could use for a pretty table setting.
I already had the red plates, the vintage Valentines, etc., and I really only added a few new items.
I hope you liked my Valentine’s Day tablescape with heart-shaped doilies and other unique items.
The next time you are at a thrift store or flea market or antiques shop, see if you can find some beautiful vintage Valentines! You can also scour Pinterest for free printables, but I like the original ones better.
