Jessica Alba and The Honest Company
I met Jessica Alba last night in New York City.
I wasn’t going to miss this event, because Hollywood mom Jessica and Christopher Gavigan launched The Honest Company — an eco-friendly line of family essentials offered through a monthly subscription service.
Jessica is a Healthy Child Healthy World ambassador and Christopher is their former CEO.
I have over the years blogged for that nonprofit (here is my post about toxic air fresheners) and mention the site all the time as the best resource I know for parents who want to find out more about eco-friendly solutions for their families.
“I’ve spent way too many hours researching products and driving around trying to find safer, eco-friendly options for my kids,” exclaimed Jessica Alba, president and founder.
After trying out products from all over the world, Jessica and Gavigan decided to take matters into their own hands.
“We were frustrated trying to find products for our own families that were not only safe, but that actually worked,” said Gavigan.
People are finally realizing that what we put on our bodies is just as important as what we put in our bodies. Your skin is one of the major routes in which chemicals enter your body.
This is why there has been a lot of buzz around Jessica Alba’s eco-friendly lifestyle line, The Honest Company, which offers non-toxic diapers, bath and body products, household cleaners and health and wellness products.
The products are curated into personalized bundles that are shipped every month.
The launch party was at ABC Kitchen, the most beautiful shabby chic, exposed brick, cozy restaurant I’ve ever seen.
I got to talk to Jessica and Christopher for a moment. We have such similar stories: our life and focus changed completely once we had children and learned about how toxic many products like lotions, sunscreens, and laundry detergents are.
Once you learn more about how unhealthy those products are, you want to warn every other parent about it.

Everyone’s skin looks so glowing! I’ve got to work on mine, looking more and more haggard as I become a mom & blogger & tweeter.
But on a good note, life’s full of passion and mission with all the eczema initiatives I’m pushing, including getting children to have a book to encourage them not to scratch FREE and helping low income pay for their eczema treatment. YAY!
