Today is Earth Day. How fitting that I get to officially tell you that I’m one of the
Top 25 Eco-Friendly Moms!
If you voted for me, thank you! It means a lot to me to be on this list with other amazing moms who make a difference. I’m elated that my friend Amy Gates, a fellow green and breastfeeding advocate, also made the list.
Don, Landon and I already celebrated Earth Day last weekend at Kensico Dam in Valhalla. The weather was beautiful, Landon had tons of fun on the bouncy and running around, and Don and I picked up all kinds of great information and coupons from green companies. My favorite: $15 of free food at Mrs. Green’s stores.
I recently started to store left-overs in old glass jars instead of plastic containers.
How do you make a difference in your household to keep your family healthy and the Earth cleaner? Do you have a tip to share?

I teach Kindergarten and we celebrate Earth Day by learning things we can do to help the Earth! If you would like some fun ideas join me at http://www.littlemisskindergarten.blogspot.com ! At home we usually start a small garden for our Earth Day family project!

First of all, congratulations again on becoming one of the Top 25 Eco-Friendly Moms! I’m so happy and excited for you, Dagmar. :)
As for making a difference in our home to keep my family healthier and the Earth cleaner, we use reusable rags to wipe our counters and table in lieu of paper towels. It’s a small step, but it’s something. If we changed one little thing, we could make a world of difference!

I just put a few of L’s stained little T-shirts away for rags :)
