Vintage mason jars, rustic enamel ware, ironstone, farmhouse signs, well-loved linens, cottage decor…
The Country Living magazine features all of this and more, and their pages are always full of wonderful inspiration. Reading Country Living is one of those little pleasures for me.
So when the Country Living Fair shows up just an hour away from us in Rhinebeck, NY, once a year, I make a point to visit and blog about it.

After getting Landon on the school bus, I headed to Rhinebeck last Friday. It was raining a bit the whole drive, but when I arrived, the weather cleared up and was just perfect for having a fun visit and finding some treasures I can’t live without.

Country Living was kind enough to reserve a ticket for me — they know what a huge fan I am.
The fair happens at the Dutchess Country Fairgrounds, which is the perfect backdrop for all the country and farmhouse decor.
The first booth I visited was one of my favorite and filled with just the kind of items I love.
If you look carefully, you can see the vintage tablecloth I ended up buying on the top of that shelf. I featured it in my latest “Thrifty & Vintage Finds” link party.
I got to meet the lovely Rachel Hardage Barrett, CL’s editor-in-chief (in the black-and-white dress) and Carrie Carlson from Hearst magazines.
I also had a lovely chat with Joanne Palisano, blogger and author of Salvage Secrets Design & Decor. Our decorating style is very similar, and we hit it off right away!
I would have loved to have much more time to shop, but I found a couple of cute things.
Aren’t these little doll cups adorable? I bought the one in the center of the picture to add to one of our plants.
The same vendor makes these cute rolling pin racks. I bought one for my rolling pin, and it’s already hanging in our kitchen.
This booth is always one of my favorite.
How cute are these fake bird houses made with repurposed kitchenware and wood blocks?
I bought a bird feeder from them two years ago, and this year I bought two of these fence posts with the little bird houses on it for our porch.
I met my friend Cindy and her friends for lunch…
…and then only had another hour before I needed to get back into the car to pick up Landon from the bus.
This is also a vendor I enjoy seeing every year — I like how they style their booth.
And these T-shirts cracked me up, especially the first one: if you are a junk lover like me, you totally get this!
As a matter of fact, I picked up this awesome coffee table from the side of the road for free the other day.
I happen to think my “stuff” is pretty cool :)
Gosh, I wish I could have spent many more hours at the #clfair. I was hoping to get back again on Sunday, but it was raining so hard that I decided not to make the drive to Rhinebeck again.
