Welcome to another Dagmar’s Home!
I love showing you my latest thrifty or vintage finds.
I drove by a yard sale a few weeks ago in our neighborhood, but it didn’t look like I could find anything I wanted.
But then I saw two of these silver lanterns — and snapped them up for just $10 for the pair.
They are from Pottery Barn and made really well with an opening on the bottom that you can screw open and close to get the candle into it.
They even still have the price tag on them: $39 each.
If you are in the market for silver lanterns, and you don’t want to wait to find them at a yard sale, you can often find them for less than in stores on Amazon.

Silver Lanterns for Less
My silver lanterns were pretty discolored, but after some elbow grease and silver cleaner, they look lovely in our living room.
I clean silver quite a bit because I have so much of it, and I find this is the best cleaner – do you agree? It has a very good rating on Amazon.
They also make these silver cleaner wipes that not only work on silver, but also on gold, brass, copper and aluminum.

August 20, 2018 at 9:38 AMSmart stop to grab the lanterns, Dagmar! ANd that soup looks delish. THank you for hosting your weekly party. I don’t always join, but most always stop by, even if I don’t leave a comment.
I went on a picking trip with my sisters this weekend, and came across a small, German-made child’s suitcase that had me thinking of you. :)
