I could look at pretty pictures of country cottage decor on Pinterest all day.

I recently noticed how much I pin pictures of white rooms with wood accents. There is just something soothing to me about a mostly white or off-white room and brown accents from furniture, wood beams, or home decor items.

Here are a few of those pictures of cottage decor with white and brown accents. Let’s start with a super-cute cottage:

This whole living room is perfection, so bright and inviting.

Our living room looks like right now, with a lot of white and brown.

country cottage decorI’d love to add fake wood beams to our Blue Cottage, but adding a big wood beam to change the stone mantel of our fireplace is first on my list.

See what I mean? I love our fireplace, but the uneven top of the mantel needs to go.

Here are kitchen ideas in white and brown:

Our kitchen has white walls and cabinets and I added many brown accents, like crates for more storage:

I really like this simple bedroom, especially that under-the-bed storage:

This white home office is so pretty!

I’m not showing you my office yet! It’s still a work in progress. I’m hoping to get it all organized and decorated before my mom and brother come to visit us for 10 days in November. Fingers crossed!

What a beautiful home, iedend. I can see that you both share the same beautiful sense of style..and that you are connected on a deeper level than just being sisters. Seeing the back view from her home makes me homesick for Florida. One thing I wonder about-where did your mother come up with such beautiful names for you girls? And, don’t you think that sometimes people “grow into” their names? Your names are both romantic and softly sweet sounding and then I look at your style and feel there is some kind of connection there. Hugs to you dear Cielo- xxoo Diana

I love a crisp white, but my husband’s not a fan. He likes darker furniture because it doesn’t show dirt and wear and tear as bad.

Hi Tami, thanks for your comment! I mix lighter furniture with many darker for that reason. I don’t think I’ll ever have a white sofa :)
