Do these people look familiar? Kris Kristofferson, Sammi Hanratty, Brooke Shields, and handsome Aidan Quinn.
As I mentioned before, last week I attended the world premiere of The Greening of Whitney Brown in New York City. The ladies from Moms & the City had invited me, and I even got to take my sister-in-law.
This was the outfit I decided on: the Adrianna Papell dress I also wore to the Martha Steward bloggers event that only cost me $70 at T.J. Maxx, a pair of new Elle boots ($40 at Kohl’s), a New York & Company necklace ($15), a LOFT bracelet I received at a BlogHer event, and a cute mac & jac handbag ($20, Marshalls.) So my whole outfit cost me about $145.
Add a fake tan, an $8 haircut that was way overdue, and I was ready.
On the train, wearing my new trenchcoat ($50 at Target). Yes, the fabulous pictures on this blog are all shot with this huge, very professional camera :)
The stars arrived: Kris Kristofferson.
The young actors in the movie.
The ladies from Moms & the City and the other mommy bloggers on the red carpet — Jennifer Wagner, Denise Albert, Shari Von Holten, me, Melissa Gerstein, Tiffany Casanova, Jessica Kobrin Bernstein, and Lucinda Cross.
My lovely sister-in-law with me in front of the paparazzi.
Inside the movie theater, waiting for the starts to take their seats. I ended up in the rest room with Brooke Shields twice.
Aidan Quinn sat across from us at the other side of the aisle, but he actually left after the lights went down and then showed up again at the party.
The movie is cute, but as you can imagine, you have to suspend your belief a bit when it comes to a story with a horse.
And Aidan Quinn and Brooke Shields didn’t have nearly enough screen time for my taste.
The after party was at the fancy Empire Hotel Rooftop. Brooke Shields and her mother, Aidan Quinn, Sammi Hanratty, the horse trainer, the young actors, the director, and other crew members all were at the party.
Maria and I had a great time. I was thrilled to be out at night, sipping champagne.
On the way out, Maria and I got to ride in the elevator with Aidan Quinn. We smiled at each other twice, but I didn’t have the heart to ask him a question or say something. Oye, those blue eyes…
What would you have asked him?
I was exhausted by the time I made it back home (to my man with stunning blue eyes), but I’ll always remember this night and walking the red carpet. Thanks, Moms & the City!
