We had a tornado touch down in our area, which is unusual in New York, and unfortunately we are the house that ended up with their neighbor’s huge oak tree on our house and yard.
Can you believe this? We just went through a storm a few months ago — and ended up with a huge tree in our yard and no power for over a week.
This storm came so suddenly, with crazy winds and dark clouds and rain, I didn’t have time to comprehend the danger.
Landon was outside when the storm hit, he saw the tree fall on our house, and I was in the house — and we could have both been hit. The wind was insane!
It ripped two power polls and all the power lines for the whole street with it, plus several electric meters, including ours, so it has been a bit of a nightmare getting everything put back together.
We’ve been without power since Tuesday and won’t have it back for another few days, but things could have been much worse, and writing this post is a welcome distraction from the many phone calls I’m making all day.
I promised you last week that I’m showing you my thrifty finds from the church rummage sale that just cost 25 cents each!
What a bargain to get all of these items for just $3! I actually have four of those pink glass candle holders.
