I didn’t plan to, but I ran a 2 mile race yesterday.
We had heard about the St. Patrick’s Day race in FDR Park nearby, and since Landon had been asking to run another race, we got up on Sunday, threw on some clothes, and rushed to get to it in time.
Don wanted to run the race with L, but his leg is still not healed all the way from breaking a bone in Australia and he’s having problems with his breathing, so we decided minutes before the race that it would be much smarter if I’d run with L.
I’m glad I did. I ran a while and power walked the rest of the race while L ran the whole way.
Taking pictures and Instagraming while running, of course.
Getting this shot was worth running the race. He looks so happy.
It was freezing cold, but we were all troopers.
In the afternoon, we went to a St. Patrick’s Day party at our friends’ house. Cabbage, soda bread, a glass of wine, yum.
We had a wonderful day — except for the part when my car stopped running while I was driving it and we had to get it towed. I’m waiting to hear what the verdict is — I’m hoping to drive that dear old car another few years.
What did you do on St. Patrick’s Day?

I hope it wasn’t too cold! What did we do? Gosh, I can hardly remember. The kids were really busy with games and practices … business as usual but I did manage to cook corned beef and cabbage!

He was! He did a great job. Did you see me make a last-minute dash to the finish line? :) Great job by all of you, hope we can all run as a family next year.
