What to Know Before Getting New Windows
Have you considered getting new windows for your home because they are old, single-pane, or drafty, and you are paying too much to heat your home?
Or would you like to upgrade to larger windows, or a different style?
If your house has outdated windows, you’re wasting energy. In the summer, you’re air conditioning the outside, and in the winter, the wind whistles through the window edges.
Don’s mom is in the middle of deciding what to do with her single-pane, drafty windows — it’s definitely time to upgrade them. Her bedroom in the back of her house is like a meat locker in the winter.
Aside from being more energy-efficient, new windows can enhance the look of your home and make it more quiet. They are also easier to clean and maintain than old ones.
We have new windows in our Blue Cottage that let you clean the outside glass by pulling the window to the inside of the house, which is so convenient.
If you’re thinking about replacement windows, it’s nice to have a point person to give you information and ideas who can answer your questions about energy efficiency, vinyl windows, double-pane windows, curb appeal, and/or maintenance.
There are so many things to consider — style, materials, color, size — that you might not know where to start. Thankfully, you can get a Sears Home Improvement rep to come to your home, listen to your needs and concerns, and help you make the right choice.
For people who are interested in maintenance-free, more energy-efficient windows, Sears Home Improvement is the vinyl windows expert.
