I received an email from HealthyChild.org, asking me which green living books I recommend.
I’m passionate about educating people about how to avoid toxins in their home.
Just to name a few things, there is no need for dangerous cleaners, toxic air “fresheners”, or food with dyes in your home.
HealthyChild.org mentioned these green living and green parenting books in the email:
Healthy Child Healthy World, Creating A Cleaner, Greener, Safer Home by Christopher Gavigan
Sleep Safe In A Toxic World by Walter Bader
Naturally Clean by Jeffery Hollender & Geoff Davis
Raising Baby Green by Alan Greene, M.D
The Baby Cuisine by Shane Valentine with Dr. Tamara Cullen, ND
The book that came to my mind right way was Growing Up Green: Baby and Child Care by Deirdre Imus. It is a complete guide to raising healthy kids. And 100% of the profits of the book will benefit the Imus Cattle Ranch for Kids with Cancer.
The second book I would recommend is Alicia Silverstone’s The Kind Diet: A Simple Guide to Feeling Great, Losing Weight, and Saving the Planet. It’s not just a fabulous vegetarian cook book, it also addresses topics like sustainability.
Either book would be a fantastic holiday gift.
What’s your favorite “go to” book for non-toxic and green living and parenting?
