He was feeling sick to his stomach because he had been spinning too fast on the tire in the playground, but he perked up after a little while. I think he was maybe also a little dehydrated from running around in the heat in the park.
We belong to the mall’s kids club and L got to spin the prize wheel and won this noise maker.
He wasn’t a fan of these shoes. And look, we picked up his own pool noodle at the dollar store. He has been using them to learn how to swim this summer.
Note the flip flops: I’m embracing wearing them for the first time in my life. My father didn’t let us wear them growing up because he couldn’t stand the noise they make, and back then no one was wearing them in Germany anyway.
I was given flip flops a few weeks ago when I had my first manicure in about 15 years before Type-A Parent Conference. I’m getting used to having something between my toes and it’s been so hot here, I actually really like wearing them. And I like that my feet get some sun as well. This is a pair of inexpensive flip flops I bought at Target.
I was packing everything in the car when L noticed the carnival across the street.
But who can resist this: “Mom, just ONE ride!”
“Alright, but only ONE ride!”
