Last Saturday was one of those days I love — just the three of us, doing fun stuff. We started with breakfast at Panera Bread.
Then we headed to Kohl’s, and instead of finding the football and Merrell shoes for Don we were looking for, I was in thrifting heaven.
I found these mustache coasters and mustache pushpins on sale. They cost me only a few dollars because I also had a 30% off coupon.
And L got new sneakers he loves because they have a Nike swoosh. This kid loves everything with a swoosh. He wanted to make sure you’d see the swooshes when I took this picture.
Don can’t stands to go shopping, so having him with me in Kohl’s was a great treat. He was surprised that sneakers for kids can be as expensive as sneakers for adults. Welcome to my world.
Don is leaving soon to visit family in Australia with his mom and sister, and we really wanted to buy them that football, so we went to a sports equipment store in Mount Kisco. They had a football that costs $150!
I think not.
Next season L won’t play soccer again, he’s not much of a fan, but he’s inquired about baseball. We’ll see.
I needed to pick up some acrylic paint for my next EverydayFamily.com DIY project and found it at our cute hardware store in town. It’s such an old building that the wood floor creaks with every step you make, which adds to its charm.
Meanwhile, Don and L checked out the trains at the train station, and then we went to Little Joe’s Books across the street from it. Remember that little bookstore in You’ve Got Mail? This one is just like that, with a small coffee shop downstairs.
At home, L had to try out this thing I also scored — a head massager for just $3. He was laughing and squirming because it tickled him. I find it very relaxing.
That was last Saturday. By now Don and I seem to be fighting the flu, again, so I don’t think we’ll have as much fun tomorrow, but we’ll make the best of it.
Sleeping in will be on top of my list, and we’ll go from there :)
