My mom came from Germany to visit us for ten days, and we had a wonderful time together.
We are usually not together for Christmas, but we have a family tradition that makes us think of each during the holidays even though we are thousands of miles away from each other: our Christmas angels.
I grew up with a whole orchestra of these hand-painted, fragile angels in our home that my mom displayed on a little table near the Christmas tree.
When I moved to America, she started a new tradition of sending me another angel every Christmas, and over the years it has grown into our own angel orchestra.
One of Landon’s favorite things to do for Christmas — and I remember it being one of mine — is unwrapping the angels to display them, and this year we got to unwrap them with my mom (Landon calls here Nani).
There is nothing more important than family — it’s truly the greatest gift to have a loving family.
Why is your family the greatest gift? What are some holiday traditions that your family honors?
Are you missing some family members that you don’t get to see during the holidays?
Then I encourage you to tell T.J.Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods your story for a chance to gather your whole family this year!
