Favorite Baby Gear I'd Buy Again

If you had another child, which baby gear could you not live without?

Baby Cubby wanted to know what I would buy again, and I had my favorite items in mind right away.

They aren’t just “another baby store” — they don’t just want to sell you baby gear. Their goal is to be a reliable resource for parents through the journey of parenthood.

The Baby Cubby team is made up of parents who have been there and are passionate about encouraging, inspiring, and reminding parents how important their role is.

They actively engage with parents via social media (they have 24,000+ Instagram followers!) and their cubby community blog to discuss some of those struggles of parenting.

Now looking back, there are some essential baby items that were lifesavers to me, especially while breastfeeding Landon in the first few months.

I don’t write about breastfeeding support and my own story much anymore simply because my son is now almost 1o years old, but I started this blog as a new mom when Landon was a toddler, and breastfeeding was the topic I used to write about most passionately.

I ended up nursing our son for over 5 years. If you are interested to find out how and why that happened, you can read more here.

My favorite baby gear I’d buy again for the next child:

Manual Breast Pump

You’ll need this to be able to pump milk when you are engorged or need to fill a bottle to have milk for your baby when you are not around. I was able to stay at home and nursed on demand, but having a little manual pump saved me several times.

If you can’t nurse on demand, it’s important that you have a bigger, quality electric breast pump to establish and maintain your milk supply.

Nursing Pillow

I had two because I literally was never without a nursing pillow in those first few weeks when I learned to nursed Landon. You need to have it at arm’s reach all the time. A good nursing pillow puts the baby in a position where feeding becomes more comfortable for you and the baby.

Nursing Pads

You’ll need these to deal with leaks. These are much better than the one-time nursing pads.

Other favorite baby gear:

Sturdy First Walking Shoes

When your toddler is learning to walk, do yourself a favor and find shoes that stay on, like these adorable Freshly Picked Moccasins.

Light-Weight Back-Up Stroller

Trust me, get a second, inexpensive, light-weight stroller — just in case the other one is in the car your husband just drove off with :) It makes life so much easier.
