Bird Watching Fun and a $150 Ace Gift Card Giveaway

Bird Watching Fun and a $150 Ace Gift Card Giveaway

Do you love animals but don’t want to have pets in the house, or maybe you can’t because of allergies?

Are you looking for a fun activity for your family, young and old?

Well, there’s one thing the whole family can enjoy, no matter how small or big your house is: bird watching!

It’s a new activity our family is enjoying. Observing the birds is quite entertaining, actually.

Ace Hardware makes it simple for you to pick up everything for this new hobby, and they were sweet enough to send us a Birding Starter Kit. I’m thrilled to be chosen as one of their Birding Bloggers because I hadn’t bought a bird feeder for our Blue Cottage yet.

Ace

Introduction to Bird Watching: A Growing Family Activity

This is the biggest bird feeder I’ve ever seen, the Birdscape Triple Tube Bird Feeder.

Bird Watching Fun and a $150 Ace Gift Card GiveawayIt holds up to 11 pounds of bird seed, and the nifty 2-in-1 ports let you switch from mixed seeds to thistle seeds in seconds. It comes fully assembled, and all you have to do is screw off the top to add the seeds.

Bird Watching Fun and a $150 Ace Gift Card Giveaway

Depending on the birds you want to attract, you decide which seeds you need. We received three different kinds of seeds:

Bird Watching Fun and a $150 Ace Gift Card GiveawayWe filled one kind in each tube, and adjusted the ports accordingly.

Landon liked helping me fill the tubes some more. This is really a fun family activity.

I wanted the bird feeder close to the house — so I can enjoy seeing the birds while I’m sitting inside and on the porch — and decided that hanging the bird feeder on the curtain line for our DIY outdoor curtains would be the perfect spot.

Bird Watching Fun and a $150 Ace Gift Card Giveaway

Bird Watching Fun and a $150 Ace Gift Card GiveawayWe didn’t fill up the feeder all the way because I didn’t want it to be too heavy on the line, but if you have it hanging on a strong pole stuck into the ground, you could fill this enough so it would last for weeks.

Bird Watching Fun and a $150 Ace Gift Card GiveawayThis bird feeder adds a nice touch to our porch decor, don’t you agree?

Bird Watching Fun and a $150 Ace Gift Card Giveaway

After we filled it, we couldn’t wait for the birds to find it and start bird watching.

It only took them a day, and we now enjoy seeing so many more birds near our house. I see birds that I never noticed before! The red cardinals are my favorite.

Ace wants you to start enjoying your own bird watching, and one lucky Dagmar’s Home reader will win a $150 Ace gift card!

Yay! How awesome is that, right? That pays for a lot of bird seeds, and many other things you could use from Ace.

How to enter:

Simply tell me your favorite feature of the Birdscape Triple Tube Bird Feeder, or which one of the featured bird seeds you would buy first.

Thanks for the great give-away. I love that the feeder doesn’t take up a lot of space but can hold so many birds. And I’d go for the wild bird food – that seems to attract a lot of varieties to the feeders.

That is an amazing birdfeeder. I love that it will hold three different seeds, enabling you to have multiple bird species feeding at the same time on different sides of the feeder. Genius! I’ve been spreading dried mealworms on my deck ledge to bring in some of the bigger birds so something like that feeder would work great out on my deck. If I win, I also desperatly need to replace my lavender plants that didn’t make it through last winter. Also some mulch to cover them and the other plants near my mailbox. Thanks!

I like the fact that you could fill the bird feeder and have it last a couple weeks I have three grandchildren that stay with me for a couple hrs every morning and afternoon. We have a couple of bird feeders and we all enjoy watching the birds. I think I would try all three kind of seeds but maybe start with thistle seed

I like the large capacity of the feeder. It says it can hold 11 pounds of seed, which would last a long time.
