Welcome to “Thrifty & Vintage Finds” link party No. 92!

If you found an amazing deal lately, a vintage or thrifty find, then I’d love you to link up. You might get featured next week!

Let me tell you a tale about four vintage chairs.

Last Friday, I went to an estate sale and saw these. My heart about stopped.

vintage chairsThere were four of these chairs, two with arms and two without. How beautiful are these?!

I loved the lines, and I have never before seen dining chairs with handles.

They would be perfect for our Blue Cottage, but they were $500. Out of the question. And I have no business buying four extra chairs.

So I moved on and kept looking around. There was a framed vintage poster I loved. $70. Out of the question. There was a vintage tiered stand. $60. Out of the question.

In the cute farmhouse kitchen of the home, I found these: four wooden folding chairs for just $40. Sold!

vintage folding chairsI was so thrilled to find these! I told myself that I can always find space for folding chairs.

After I dust these off and paint them with Amy Howard‘s One Step paint, they will be great to have for extra seating.

I loaded them in the car and drove off.

And I couldn’t get the blue chairs out of my head.

So half an hour later I emailed Lisa, the owner of the estate sale company, that I could offer $300 for all four chairs. But I knew they would sell — the sale was going on for two days, and someone was going to scoop them up for sure.

Fast forward to Saturday evening, when I find an email that I can have the chairs, for $300.

Yay! But also yikes. We really didn’t need four (eight) more chairs.

But don’t they look adorable in our cottage? ;)

I haven’t been able to find out more about these chairs with the help of Google, but I bet Amy Howard would know. I wonder how old they are, and how much they are actually worth.

Did you show off your latest find last week? If you linked up, thank you!

It was really fun to see all your finds again.

I decided to feature Brenda, who writes Unique Junktique and scored these beautiful sewing machine drawers. I bought one at this sale and it now holds our vitamin bottles on our kitchen counter.

Oooooooh! I love chairs and all of these have charm and beauty. Another way to look at the cost is to divide 8 into $340.00 that comes out to $42.50 a chair that makes 4 of them unbelievably inexpensive. Your going to love those folding chairs for outside entertaining next summer…LOL…better keep an eye out for a folding table to go with them! Best ~ Mickie

Love your new blue chairs, Dagmar. I wish I knew more about them. No labels on the bottom, I suppose? You’ll have to fill us in when you get more info. Thanks for hosting!
