Education and More Giveaway: Win $200 for Fair Trade, Handcrafted Items Made in Guatemala

by Dagmar Bleasdale on November 9, 2015

Education and More giveaway, DagmarBleasdale.com

It’s time for a big giveaway — just in time for the holidays!

I’m giving away a $200 credit for the beautiful, handcrafted items Education and More offers, a Christian charitable organization striving to reduce poverty in Guatemala.

They offer educational opportunities for children, help women to earn a fair living, and help with the repair of the artisans’ homes.

About 75% of the rural population in Guatemala lives in poverty, and their passion is to reduce poverty and help moms and their children.

Education & MoreI was sent a sampling of their beautiful, handcrafted, fair trade items.

Education and More Giveaway

They offer:

  • ethical, handcrafted scarves and wraps
  • bags and purses
  • linens (napkins, placemats, and dish towels)
  • bracelets 2 educate
  • fair trade towels
  • and more

I set the table with the blue fair trade cotton napkins I received. It’s amazing to think that a woman in Guatemala hand-weaved them — instead of a machine — and now we get to enjoy them.

Education and More giveaway

Their dish towels are equally as pretty and only get softer with every use. I’m going to send these two to my mom, who loves linens as much as I do.

Education and More linens

Education and More also offers ethically sourced bracelets from their partner artisans that start at only $5. All profits from the sales goes into a special fund to educate disadvantaged children in Guatemala.

Education & More bracelets 2 educate

Another thing I like about this charity is that you can sponsor a student so he or she can go to school. Education is obviously the key for these kids to escape poverty. Just click on “Sponsor A Student.”

I remember that my parents sponsored a student in Africa when I was growing up, and we would get letters from him.

That inspired me to do the same: Landon and I looked at the pictures of the children, and Landon picked Marvin. We now sponsor this little boy to be able to go to school.

I’m always looking for opportunities to teach L about gratitude, and sponsoring Marvin is a powerful lesson for L that going to school is a privilege — not something he should take for granted.

Sponsored students will be provided a Bible, enrollment fees, a pair of new shoes, a backpack, school supplies for the school year, and they may receive transportation help to school, clothing, and a basket of food.

Education and More is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) public charity, so your contributions are tax deductible.

Education and More Giveaway: Win a $200 Gift Code!

One lucky Dagmar’s Home reader will win one gift code worth $200 for the online shop. You could shop for all kinds of holiday gifts, or enjoy the items yourself!
