Dagmar's Home "Thrifty & Vintage Finds" Link Party

Welcome to “Thrifty & Vintage Finds” link party No. 77!

If you found an amazing deal lately, a vintage or thrifty find, then I’d love you to link up. You might get featured next week!

I forgot to show you two items I scored at the big tag sale where I also bought the fabulous American flag and other items I blogged about last week.

Look at the price on this bone china souvenir Prince Charles mug: 10 cents!

A Souvenir of Prince Charles cup

I’m tempted to keep this mug and use it on Landon’s desk for little items, but I’ll probably add it to my Etsy store.

Prince Charles cup, DagmarBleasdale.comPrince Charles looked a lot like little Prince George, his grandson, don’t you think?

I also scored this vintage picnic basket — for only $2. It has an odd top because it’s not at all attached to the basket.

vintage picnic basketThis is now picnic basket number 3. I’m tempted to whitewash them and pile them on top of each other to create a bedside table for my side of the bed, but for now I put two under the table in the stairway.

vintage picnic basketDon was given this football recently at a dinner we attended. It’s one of the footballs he scored with as a quarterback in high school. The daughter of his former coach gave it to him.

In four years, his team lost one game. They were good, really good, and it was lovely to see Don reminisce about that special time with the other players: the pasta dinners in rotating homes, tacking up his No. 18 jersey on the wall to look at it before games, the beloved coach’s many amusing superstitions and rituals…

He’s humble and understated about his accomplishments (he also played tennis and basketball, and ran track at the same time on winning teams) — I wish the Internet would’ve been around so we’d have more photos and movies of those games so Landon and I could see Don in his younger years.

At least now we have this football we’ll treasure forever.

If you linked up, thank you! You all made my choice of who to feature so hard again. There were a couple of you I wanted to feature but couldn’t since you didn’t link back to this post – please don’t forget to do that so I can feature you!

I’m featuring Jamie, who blogs at Anderson & Grand. She recently bought a vintage fan — and look how she updated it with black chalk paint!

I love the Prince Charles cup! Such a neat find. I haven’t found any vintage finds lately but it’s the perfect way to pick up some props for my food blog so I think I may need to get out there. Not sure why, but I’m starting to get the Fall itch and that always makes me want to antique! I’ll be sure to stop back by the link party when I do. Really enjoying your blog!
