Feeding Your Baby Healthy Food Just Got Easier

When we first become parents, what is the No. 1 concern we all have? That we are feeding our kids healthy food, right?

At least it was for me.

I was fortunate to be able to nurse Landon and to give him breast milk exclusively for 9 months. Since I was a stay-at-home mom, it made feeding him super easy because I was always able to feed him on demand, and he got all the nutrition he needed.

So once I had to start supplementing his feedings with solid food because he had just reached that age where he needed other food, things got more stressful for me. I of course wanted the food to be the most healthy and nutritious food available. Every mom — and dad — wants that.

Feeding Your Baby Healthy Food Just Got Easier

When Landon was little, there weren’t as many organic baby food companies around, and those handy pouches weren’t even available yet.

Parents nowadays have it so much easier — and feeding your child healthy food just became a lot more transparent.

Beech-Nut is the first baby food company in the U.S. to reveal the exact percentage of ingredients in its jars and pouches.

beech-nut transparencyThey now include percentage breakdowns of ingredients in their jars and pouches on their  website. Parents can click on any individual product to reveal its nutrition panel.

“All parents want the best for their babies, and they want to know exactly what they are eating,” said Jeff Boutelle, president of Beech-Nut. “We don’t want parents to worry about the foods they’re feeding their babies, which is why we’re sharing our recipes. We’re sharing our recipes now, even as we continue to improve them.”

I’m a big food label reader, and I know that the names of products and even the ingredient list of products can be deceiving, so having the percentage of the ingredients listed gives parents a better idea of what they are buying.

I want to know if the pouch that lists kale as the first thing in its name really has a large percentage of kale in it, for example.

This year, Beech-Nut was awarded Product of the Year in the baby category for its 100% naturals and organic lines, as selected by more than 40,000 consumers. Producing baby food since 1931, Beech-Nut is the number two leading baby food brand in the United States and is committed to deliver nutritious food for parents and babies.

Check out the exact percentage of ingredients in Beech-Nut’s organic and non-GMO baby food for yourself! They just added a bunch of new flavors.

“Just pineapple, kale, apple & carrot” would be my first pick. Which one would be yours?

{I was compensated by Beech-Nut for this post. All opinions are as always my own.}
