My Best Mother’s Day Yet

by Dagmar Bleasdale on May 11, 2015

054aI hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day!

I had a tag sale at our house on Saturday while Don was at work. It was a busy and exhausting day, but L and I had fun, the weather was perfect, I got a bit of a tan, and we got rid of a lot of things. Win-win!

Best Mother’s Day Yet

On Mother’s Day, I got to sleep in, and Don and L made me my first breakfast in bed.

I remember how much fun I had as a little girl making breakfast for my mom on Mother’s Day — it’s really more about that, isn’t it? And now Don knows how to make coffee in our machine. Win-win!

011The boy who made me a mom 8+ years ago wrote me the sweetest notes on little hearts at school.

My favorite three were:

  • “I know my mom loves me because she reads me a bedtime story every night.”
  • “I know my mom is very smart because she writes a lot every day.”
  • “My mom is good at many things. One thing she’s best at is being a mom!”

I will cherish them forever.

In the afternoon, we went to Muscoot Farm to see the yearly sheep shearing. It’s a tradition for us by now to go on Mother’s Day that I’ve blogged about over the years.

Here is L showing off some of the wool he took home.

We had some food and ice cream at the snack bar…

…L had fun on the orange tractor…

083aI’m the luckiest woman in the world to be the mom of this special boy. He makes me laugh and proud every day.

He makes motherhood easy.

092aAs if that wasn’t enough fun, we had a coffee at Tazza, dropped of a treat for Don’s mom and hung out with her for a while in the shade…

boy playing Minecraft on phone…and then decided to go to a nice restaurant for dinner. I even had a glass of wine!

I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful Mother’s Day.

How was your Mother’s Day?

L is gorgeous (and I think I have said that before). He has taken some gorgeous features from you.

You had a great Mother’s day and I am happy for you. :)

Awesome kind of weekend! I also participated in a community yard sale with my local Panoply sister, and we purged many vintage items, along with household. Our customers got some great deals and did ok too – win/win! My girls are grown, but both were in touch with me over the weekend – proud to be a mom to them both. I love what your son said about you being smart because you write – very observant kid! Have a great week.
