Exposed Brick Wall Ideas

I have a love affair.

With brick walls.

I’m sure it has to do with growing up in Germany, in the quaint and very old town of Bremen, where many, many houses are made out of brick.

You see brick buildings everywhere, especially in the historic part of Bremen, and Germany in general.

I have been pinning pictures of exposed brick walls inside of homes for inspiration for a while now. They add an instant vintage charm and coziness to any room.

Here are just a few I have been drooling over: beautiful examples of brick walls in living rooms, bedrooms, and kitchens.

While you are looking at them, try to guess which one of these ideas I’m dying to recreate in our Blue Cottage!

Aren’t these brick walls all adding so much visual interest, warmth, and approachability to every room? Gosh, I love these.

Did you guess it? Yes, I have been wanting to do this in our kitchen since we moved in: add a wall of (fake) white-washed brick.

I’d get rid of the crates on our countertops and also install floating shelves like this.

You can add fake brick to any wall — there are several products on the market and DIY tutorials I have my eye on. I’ve even talked to Don about my idea already and he isn’t opposed to it.

Fingers crossed Mr. Hunky Finish Carpenter finds the time to help me! It’d be so much easier with his help because he has all the machines and skills to give me a hand with this project.

What do you think, would brick walls look amazing in our cottage kitchen?, white farmhouse kitchen

Love the brick wall you want, and those shelves are gorgeous! I hope you do the wall, because I would love to read about it! I also love the pic of the brick wall with the wall to wall book shelves. Gorgeous! I would love if you would drop by and share this at my blog party, “Celebrate It”! It is all about celebrating the everyday wonderful!

OH…I love every one of these! If I ever have one more house do-over…an exposed brick wall is on the list of must-haves!
