I want to wish you all a Merry Christmas!
Can you believe it’s already here?
I hope you get to celebrate this special day with people dear to your heart.
Good food, a few presents, smiling kids…
The three of us had fun driving around today to get last-minute gifts.
For family member here — and in Australia.
Because guess what…
Don and L are going to fly to Australia in a few days to visit family over there for two weeks. They are both packing and so excited about their adventure.
I’m staying here, someone has to hold down the fort, plus Don really wanted this to be their special father-son time. He visited Australia two years ago with his mother and sister, and broke his foot, remember?
This time he’s taking L.
Other than when I had to leave L behind when my father died in Germany, I’ve never been away from him for more than a few days, and it’s going to be hard to not have my sweet boy around.
But I know he’s going to have an amazing time with his cousins and aunts and uncles over there. It’s the experience of a lifetime he’ll hopefully always remember.
Many of our Christmas cards are still not in the mail, but L and I made gingerbread cookies (well, ninjabread cookies) for Santa.
I forgot how many reindeer Santa has, so we just added a couple extra carrots for them.
I wrapped every gift and sprinkled fake snow on the carpet because our chimney is closed off and Santa has to come through the front door.
It’s now 3:30 am and I’m heading to bed.
I can’t wait to see L’s face in a few hours when he sees what he’s getting for Christmas, from us and Santa.
I’m leaving you with a few more pictures I didn’t include in my Christmas Home Tour post:
