I spent yesterday in New York City, to attend NY NOW, the Market for Home+Lifestyle and the HGTV Blogger Block Party (#bloggerblockparty) with my friend Kelly.

Look at the kind blog post Kelly wrote before we left.

At the HGTV party, Scott McGillivray gave an informative presentation about his experience with renovating houses and adding a second unit to create income properties.

I have been watching his show on HGTV for years and just wish we could work on an income property. That would be such a fun project with Don, since he has the carpentry and construction knowledge and I’d be all over the interior design, staging, and finishing touches.

But properties in Westchester, NY, are so expensive, you almost need half a million dollars to pull that off here. Maybe one day, but for now I’m happy to decorate our Blue Cottage.

Then it was time to mingle and have some ice cream.

I took a lot more pictures all day — find them on Instagram if you are curious to see all my favorite things I saw at NY NOW.

There was so much to see, we only looked at the Home section. There just wasn’t enough time to also look at Lifestyle, Handmade, and New section.

Here are just a couple of pictures from NY NOW. I wrote a whole blog post with many more photos of my favorite things here.

Looks like you had fun. To me the most exciting part would have been just being in New York City. I was there for the first time about a year ago.
