Our Fun Day in Peekskill, NY

by Dagmar Bleasdale on May 19, 2014

Another beautiful spring weekend in Westchester, NY! I hope you all had great weather where you are.

Have you ever visited Peekskill, NY? It’s only 30 minutes away from us but I only drive there maybe once a year.

L’s big dance recital was today at Peekskill’s Paramount Theater, and we ended up spending half the day there.

Some of My Favorite Places in Peekskill

We had such a full day that I took an hour-long nap at 5 p.m.

It started with the three of use having breakfast at Panera Bread and dropping off L at the theater for his first big dance recital.

We had an hour to kill before the show so we had coffee at the BeanRunner Cafe, which is only a block away from the theater, with friends who also have their son in the Boys Club hip hop class.

The old Paramount Theater is beautiful inside.

L’s show was amazing and he received his first trophy. Doesn’t he look so big with his new, short haircut?

We were going to look at pavers for our driveway but the place was closed, so we had lunch at the Yellow Brick Cafe overlooking the Peekskill waterfront and Hudson river.

I’m loving the explosion of green everywhere, finally!

We love the waterfront in Peekskill! The playground is fabulous and the scenery couldn’t be better. My girls love to wander along the water like you guys did too.

Next time you’re in Peekskill you should definitely hit up the Peekskill Coffeehouse right across from the Paramount. The Peekskill Brewery and Kathleen’s Tea Room are also favorites of ours!
