I had the opportunity to have dinner with DIY Network’s Alison Victoria at the Design Bloggers Conference in March. She hosts the popular show “Kitchen Crashers,” have you seen it?
Seven other bloggers and I were invited by HomeAdvisor to meet her, and it was an amazing evening. Alison is super sweet and funny, and we talked about how we both need to look for an assistant because we both do everything ourselves and there are just not enough hours in the day.
While enjoying fancy food in a private room of the restaurant, we chatted about the DesignMine app she created with HomeAdvisor and just had a wonderful time all around with the other bloggers.
Alison invited us to submit a guest post for her fab blog, and mine is published!
I created a vintage book page banner that I hung on our mantel, and now I’m using it in my store.
DIY Vintage Book Banner
What do you do with vintage books that have seen better days? I don’t have the heart to throw out a book that’s 50 years old — there had to be something I can make with it — and sure enough it came in handy for a banner I made for our mantel.
Check out the whole post, including the supply list and tutorial on Alison Victoria’s blog.
This is what the banner looked like in front of our mantel.
And here it is as decoration in my booth at the Newburgh Vintage Emporium:
