I’m Attending the Design Bloggers Conference 2014

design bloggers conference 2014

As if starting my Dagmar’s Home Decor business at the Newburgh Vintage Emporium wasn’t exciting enough, I have something else coming up I’m so thrilled about: I’m flying to Atlanta next Sunday to the only conference for interior design bloggers — the Design Bloggers Conference!

My blog has changed a lot over the years, and I’m so happy with the new direction of Dagmar’s Home. Now that we bought the Blue Cottage, there are so many home upgrades and decorating projects to make this our dream home I want to write about.

There are tablescapes to be style, furniture to be repainted, light fixtures to be changed. The front and backyard need a lot of help, and I’m dreaming of a my first organic garden. Since this is a small house, optimizing our space and organizing will continue be a theme as well.

Having a stylish, cozy home doesn’t have to cost a lot. We don’t have the budget to buy a $2,000 chair, and I wouldn’t even want to pay $200 for a chair. Finding thrifty and nifty decorating solutions will always be something I’ll be excited to write about, like my $1 dish towels I made into our window coverings with a simple tension rod.

So I can’t wait to learn more about making Dagmar’s Home the best interior design, DIY, and lifestyle blog I can possibly make it and to keep sharing my journey with all of you.

The sessions they have lined up for the three conference days will be full of great information. Candice Olson, whose HGTV show I’m watching all the time, will be speaking, and I’ll learn more about

  • The Business of Blogging – Methods For Maximizing Your Revenue
  • 21 Useful Tips to Build Your Business and Personal Brand
  • PR for Bloggers
  • Building a Blog that Google Will Love

I always feel so at home at blogging conferences because I’m surrounded by people who “get” me and my passion for blogging, plus I learn a ton of new things that I then can’t wait to implement.

DBC is my first interior design conference, and I couldn’t be more excited to go.

Are you also heading to the Design Bloggers Conference (#DBC2014)? Then let me know so we can meet up!

I was laughing when I read your Blog today because I have been looking for a new chair for our living room and I found one yesterday. The price was $199.00 and I refused to pay it. My hubby thinks I am crazy because it would have been perfect but that is too much money. I agree with you and I know I will find something I love as much or even more at a much lower price. Enjoy your conference.

Hi Patty, thanks for your comment! I found my favorite leather chair for $27 at Goodwill. :)
