Our New Holiday Tradition With Chasing Fireflies

Chasing Fireflies wants to know: is there a holiday tradition you’d like to start or continue this holiday season?

I didn’t have to think long about the tradition I want to start: plant a new tree in our yard every year.

The garden of our new house, the Blue Cottage, still needs a lot of help. And my first purchase for it was a 6-foot October Glory maple tree.

It was a gift for my husband on his birthday, and it was fun to plant it together in the front yard, just the three of us.

Landon had fun helping to make the hole for it, and now we’ll have this tree to remind us of that time we spent together as a family, literally putting down roots here.

These are the kinds of traditions and memories kids remember, and it’s so important to create those moments for kids, in my opinion. Maybe Landon will continue the tradition of tree planting with his kids — I would love that.

What are your traditions during the holiday season? Pajamas for the whole family? Elf on the Shelf? Note from Santa?

Chasing Fireflies has you covered to continue your tradition or start new ones with your little ballerinas, superheroes, or horse lovers.

Their holiday-themed and personalized  pajamas are the cutest, plus their other products, like the Elf on the Shelf® shrinky dinks® and Pet Reindeer balloon. (Psst, I want one of the Magic Elf Red Snowcase — how cute!)
