I was expecting a lot of rain for Mother’s Day, so in my mind we weren’t going to do anything special today. But when I rolled out of bed, the sunshine was steaming through the window. It was absolutely beautiful outside!
I didn’t get breakfast in bed, darn, but Don made pancakes and L picked a flower from the garden for the table. He had made me two cards at school and the sweetest poem.
Yep, that’s me. I love my work, I love my kid, I love coffee, and I love interior design magazines :)
By the time we were done with breakfast, we had to think of what to do with the rest of this glorious day.
We bought some handmade chocolates and dropped them off at Grandma’s, and L and I walked into town.
My camera died, but we had a really nice early dinner in the shade outside in Katonah, picked up some ice cream, and then headed back home.
I read six books to L, got him to write a short letter for school, and then he wanted to fall asleep in between Don and me on our bed. So I hummed him to sleep, and of course Don fell asleep as well.
So here I am on the sofa, laptop on my legs, coffee next to me, watching Home by Novogratz. Perfect end to a perfect Mother’s Day.
How was yours?
