Wordless Wednesday — Our Summer So Far

by Dagmar Bleasdale on July 3, 2012

How is your summer so far? I’m having a lot of fun with this little silly boy and our new schedule.

I take L to swimming lessons every day before I drive him to summer camp. He loves to swim under the water — now he just has to learn how to stay above the water :)

Here he is showing off with Daddy at Grandma’s town pool.

L really likes his first summer camp experience. He didn’t even blink when I dropped him off there the first day. It’s just around the corner, and he gets to be with many boys he already knows from kindergarten.

After I pick up L from summer camp we now have a routine that usually involves getting ice cream from the ice cream truck and some time at the playground.

Once a week we go to the library and meet L’s book buddy, a local teenager who volunteered to practice reading with L.

And at the end of the summer L even gets to read to the library dog three times! What a sweet program, don’t you think, to get reluctant readers interested in reading? Our library really rocks.

Tell me about your summer! And link up your fabulous Wordless Wednesday post!

Wow, sounds like a great library! We don’t have those type of programs here.

A library dog? That sound really neat idea. How does the dog seem to like it?

How long a day is L at camp? I wish I had time to do more fun things with my son before and after camp! I have been spending hours with my daughter in the sprinkler, though :) And lots and lots of ice cream!

We are gearing up for camp next week. I am jealous about the ice cream truck. Those never come out in the country by my house.

What a fun summer! You are building so many happy memories for him. And I LOVE that he goes to camp without hesitation. He is such a confidence little man, isn’t he?

When L saw that one of his best kindergarten friends was in his summer camp group he was all set :) I love that he is so independent and has confidence – attachment parenting doesn’t mean your child is going to be clingy.
