Parents, Travel in Style With These Baby and Kids Products

by Dagmar Bleasdale on April 5, 2012

The four lovely ladies and wonderful blogger friends behind Trumpeting Media — Esti Berkowitz (Primetime Parenting), Suzanne Chan (Mom Confessionals), Nancy Johnson Horn (The Mama Maven) and Divina Rodriguez (Dancing Hotdogs) — invited me to their Travel in Style event at the stunning, five-star The Peninsula New York in Midtown Manhattan.

I only had time to stay for a little while before I had to hurry back to Westchester, but I was able to say hi to the ladies and other blogger friends and learn a bit about new products for parents who travel with their kids. I was very impressed with the selection.

Baby Cargo is a new line of baby gear that takes its inspiration from iconic architecture, fashion, and interior design. Planning a family trip? Baby Cargo’s Ultra Lightweight Series is made for travel and all weigh under 15 pounds. The 100, 200 and 300 strollers include specially engineered wheels for a smoother ride and a shoulder strap for carrying. They are easy to fold and super compact.

Citrus Lane is a modern subscription e-commerce company that sends surprise packages of awesome, healthy, and useful products to you! Their boxes will make getting through a restaurant meal or a two-hour car ride to Grandma’s a lot more enjoyable. With surprises from great brands like Itzy Ritzy, ZoLi, Ella’s Kitchen and Weleda (to name a few), the  box is only $25 with a monthly subscription. Retail value is $35-40, so it’s not just fun–it’s a good deal!

Baby Cargo and Citrus Lane are running a Travel in Style Contest until April 27:

  • One entry wins the Grand Prize – a deluxe travel package worth $5,000!
  • 9 runners-up will win the Baby Cargo stroller of their choice.

As a mom who travels to Europe at least once a year with her son, I love this product — BubbleBum. It’s the first ever inflatable booster seat, making family travel easier than ever! It’s the perfect solution for family car trips and fly-ins with car rentals.

Weighing less than one pound, BubbleBum inflates/deflates easily, making it simple to throw in a backpack or carry on. I just used my seat for the first time a few days ago and I literally installed it in minutes. BubbleBum includes belt positioning clips in place of arm rests so it’s possible to fit three boosters across the back seat of a car, minivan, or SUV. Available at and

Spring has sprung and it’s time to put sunscreen on the kids — and don’t forget to protect their eyes from the sun! Real Kids Shades, premier sunglasses for children, help parents provide serious sun protection for babies to kids up to age 12. From the beach to the slopes, Real Kids Shades are the perfect portable, protective travel necessity for active kids. Available in vibrant colors and fun styles, all Real Kids Shades provide comfort, durability, and safety. They are CPSIA Compliant, CE Certified, and FDA Approved to provide 100% UVA and UVB protection.

Organic Valley offers on-the-go treats for kids that are nutritious and delicious. I obviously love that they are produced without antibiotics, synthetic hormones, toxic pesticides, and GMOs. Organic Valley’s Stringles is a great source of calcium and protein. Organic Valley’s lowfat single-serve milk comes in white, vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry — no refrigeration required! Their snacks are a perfect balance of nutrition and convenience.

Other brands at the event included BuggyGuard, California Baby, Clean Well, Hold on Handles, and more.

Thank you again, ladies, for inviting me to this informative and fun event.

{I received a swag bag but no other compensation. This is my honest opinion}
