14 Clever Ways to Display and Store Books

We have so many books in our house that I always look for new ways to display or store them in a clever way.

I even started a whole Pinterest board about book storage.

Here are 14 fun ways I’ve found on Pinterest to store books:

1 Why not display books in your fireplace? Just make sure you line it first with something so moisture and soot can’t ruin the books.

2 How sweet is this suitcase book storage? I have a couple of these vintage suitcases in my store — maybe I should steal one back for this idea?

3 This stacking of books makes quite a statement:

4 My recycling heart beats for this wooden spool repurposed for book storage – and a coffee table!

5 My Dream Home has this book tree in Landon’s room! Don could make this for him, and I’ll paint it.

6 Don’t do this is you have a fear of heights, like me:

7  Bit too colorful for my taste, but clever idea to sort books by color:

8 Using bookshelves that surround a door makes great use of space. You might want to learn how to build a bookshelf as you could create some amazing custom designs like this.

9 How simple and dramatic is this display of children’s books!

10 This storage above a door can be done in the smallest apartments:

11 A stunning home library on steroids:

12 I love this curtain idea!

13 This unique bookshelf is something to consider, but maybe just at bench height:

14 I love this “desk for two” idea and the extra storage space it creates:

Do you have a favorite way to display or store your books?

Love these! I’m going to try the old suitcase one! A friend just made some adorable fairy book slings for me. You can see a photo on my twitter page @tarabenwell

Some of those are AWESOME.

What I really love about #8 is that the books not only surround the doorway but they’ve actually taken the plaster or drywall off and embedded the book shelves IN the wall.

Love these! I think I am into the wall of books though I will need a built in ladder because I am short!

Right now, most of my books are stored in Rubbermaid containers. I have a Nook Tablet, and I absolutely love it. I can have any and all of my books with me at one time, and it takes up about two inches of space.

Have a great week!

You should really start doing some interior designing, obviously your interest/passion at the moment! Would be great if your next post is on some wardrobe ideas, my clothes n my hubby are squished into one small wardrobe cos that’s the only space available in our room. Just threw aways few thousand dollars of clothes that I don’t fit in cos there’s simply no wardrobe space :)
