My New Year’s Resolutions and To-Do List for 2012

by Dagmar Bleasdale on January 13, 2012

I usually don’t make New Year’s resolutions, believe it or not, but I am for this year. Actually, I have a bunch of them.

My New Year’s Resolutions for 2012:

I’m going to lose these dang 10 extra pounds I put on in the last year and get toned and fit again. I’m done being upset about them. Done. I started an 8-week fitness challenge today, and I’ll let you know how it goes.

I will finally get that requested breast ultrasound. I got the marching order for it May 20, 2011, after a mammogram, and now it’s 2012. After reading about my friend Kristi‘s scare, I made my appointment.

After another almost-ruined dinner, I bought a crock pot (on sale for $17) — and I will learn how to make yummy, vegetarian food with it. And cook more in general.

I will buy organic food whenever possible. No more GMO (genetically engineered food) will enter this house. After learning more about the dangers and politics of GMO, I’m putting my foot down. No more frozen TV dinners. I will find the money for organic food in our budget somehow. Our health is too important. I might even throw out my microwave. Gasp.

I will take that cooking class with Don I gifted him (us) a while ago.

I will bake my own bread again — to save money and to be in control of what it’s made with.

I will learn to make homemade, organic yogurt.

I will re-organize the kitchen.

Dagmar’s momsense will get the redesign I’ve been wanting for a while. I’m working with a designer right now and the big reveal is coming soon!

I will set up the new router so Don can finally get Internet access and doesn’t have to use my laptop anymore.

I will listen more and talk/suggest less.

I will get our taxes done before March.

I will read even more to Landon and keep supporting and encouraging him to do his best in kindergarten.

What are your New Year’s resolutions?

You have some really great goals for 2012! I too, have been trying to fit in the organic foods and cooking more. It’s more expensive, but totally worth it!
