Wordless Wednesday — Meeting Mickey Mouse

by Dagmar Bleasdale on December 27, 2011

Landon and I visited the Disney Store in Times Square when we went to the 77Kids party a couple weeks ago, and L didn’t know it then but — we are going to fly to Florida in January and take him to Disney World to meet the real Mickey Mouse!

This will be our first family vacation ever. I’m not counting trips to see family in Germany — that’s not really a vacation :).

We are flying directly from Westchester to Orlando, quite a treat, and will be staying in a brand-new Wyndham Resort for three nights.

We are planning to spend one day at Disney World and told L about it at Christmas. I printed him out a fake Disney ticket stub and made it one of his presents for Christmas.

He’s not over-the-moon excited like those kids in the commercials, I think because we don’t have a lot of Disney paraphernalia in the house, but he’s going to be blown away by Disney World once we get there. I can’t wait to see his reaction.

What he doesn’t know yet is that we are also planning to go to SeaWorld.

L is obsessed with killer whales and the Free Willy movies to the point where he asks us to call him Jessy, and he also loves dolphins.

We just have to find a way to get to SeaWorld. Maybe he’ll even get to meet and touch dolphins — I’m pretty sure that would be the highlight of the trip for him.

I can’t wait to tell you more about our vacation after we come back!

I just was able to also secure three free tickets to SeaWorld. I’m beyond excited for L and I can’t wait to tell him that day. I’ll make the reveal a big deal :) Thanks for stopping by! And I hope that 2012 will be way less stressful.
