Don hates shopping. Even more than me.
But he has the curious habit of wanting to brave the mall once a year — a day before Christmas.
We only needed one gift for his nephew — psst, Don is his secret Santa — and we could have bought it in Mount Kisco, but after breakfast at the Katonah diner, we drove to the Danbury Mall.
It was a welcome distraction after the awful phone call I got yesterday. My dear friend Nata, who lives in Los Angeles with her teenage son, had a stroke. I can’t stop thinking about her, and I feel guilty doing things like eat and being able to dress myself — because Nata can’t even talk right now. I’ll tell you more when I know more.
Those walking balloon toys were the cutest, so I bought L one. Life is too short.
I would have chosen the dachshund, because I had a little dachshund for 13 years growing up, but L was sure he wanted the dinosaur.
Don wants an iBook Air, but we weren’t in the mood to get in line for more info — he’ll get it after the holidays.
I just had to have L take a picture of me with this Angry Bird hat — in honor of my wonderful BlogHer sponsor SwaddleDesigns because they are the official maker of Angry Bird baby bodysuits, blankets, and more. I gave out 250 Angry Bird key chains at BlogHer for SwaddleDesigns, and I was very popular :)
This is my favorite picture. I always get the nicest pictures of L on the carousel, he’s so happy swirling Mama around. It’s totally worth feeling like I have to throw up to get pictures like this.
Notice the fixed front tooth — after so much drama about that tooth, thinking it would have to get extracted, and then it was shorter for a while — L was a total trooper last week and had a baby root canal performed and a new strip crown put on.
He has plenty of space between his teeth — breastfeeding helps to get teeth aligned the right way, and he certainly has had his share LOL — so I’m crossing my fingers that he will never need braces.
Hoping you are having a nice time preparing for Christmas and that everyone is healthy in your family.
Here is our Christmas card, if you missed it.
