We rode the train to Cold Spring — a quaint and charming town in Westchester in the shadow of famous West Point — on Saturday to take advantage of the beautiful fall weather.
After brunch at one of my favorite places, the Hudson Hil’s restaurant, we walked around for an hour and then hopped back on the train.
If I had had more time, I would have ended up with a furniture piece or something else to lug home from one of the cute antique stores that line the Main Street, but I didn’t have enough time for shenanigans.
Don wanted to go for a jog with his sister and I took L to a storytime at the new Little Joe’s Books store in Katonah. Borders in Mount Kisco closed, but we now have this kid’s bookstore in NoKaJoe’s that reminds me a lot of Meg Ryan’s store in You’ve Got Mail. So cute.
Just by coincidence, I had just mentioned taking the train to Cold Spring with your kids as a fun outing in my new column for the Examiner: Inexpensive Fall Fun For the Whole Family.
