Wordless Wednesday — Look Who Got to Be A Pilot!

by Dagmar Bleasdale on July 20, 2011

This isn’t the best picture quality, but I just had to post this for Wordless Wednesday! Well, Wordful Wednesday.

We returned from our Germany trip last week. We had just landed back in New York and were exiting the plane, and the cockpit door was open. The pilot spotted Landon and called him in! He got to sit on the copilot’s seat for a minute and the pilot gave him his hat to wear.

I don’t know who was more excited, L or me. He loves planes and would love to be a pilot. And I remember always being allowed to see the cockpit on flights I took as a kid to Tunisia or Spain, but that obviously doesn’t happen anymore nowadays. That is what made this so special.

What a great experience for L and perfect end to a lovely trip with my little boy.

Check out all the posts I have written so far about our wonderful days in Germany!

I didn’t know they did that in the states anymore. I am really excited for him too. What a thrill. Happy Wordless Wednesday.  Please stop by and see mine.

I’m so glad the pilot captured that moment and allowed L to enjoy being in the Pilot’s seat. He’ll remember that always!

Wow! Isn’t he the lucky one! Looks like he has loads of personality, too!

Have a great day,

How wonderful! He does look so excited.

Awww look at that smile, you can tell he was so excited. I remember when going up to the cockpit was common, not so much anymore. He is a lucky little man.

how awesome for L!! When I flew with David I asked if he could get a picture with the Pilot. The flight attendant said “well, we are really booking it, don’t have time….” but the pilot interrupted her and said “yes! A quick picture!” LOL

I am really glad you got that photo, L will treasure it!

I’ve been reading your Germany posts and it’s so fun to see Landon is the cockpit of the plane. A fantastic memory. Welcome “home” to the USA. (I know Germany is your original home though!) Happy WW and thanks for hosting. I linked up with photos our buckin’ broncos!

How cool is that? What airline?

I used to work for the airlines back in my younger days, still have my wings (although showing them never gets me upgrades, LOL)

Love that smile!

And my WW is actually wordful too, but for a very good reason!

Aww, this is so cool! I would be so excited about it, too!
I´m glad you had a good flight back home!
