Wordless Wednesday – Summer Adventures

by Dagmar Bleasdale on June 29, 2011

On Sunday Landon and I checked out a new thrift store in Bedford Hills, The Benefit Store, and then we went to see if a desk I wanted for Don was now on sale at one of my favorite consignment stores in Katonah, NoKa Joe’s.

The desk wasn’t there anymore, hmpf, but I found a funny gift for my dad — a yodeling pickle. He doesn’t have any hobbies and never wants us to buy anything for him, but I know he’s going to love that gift. He is turning 85, and Landon and I are flying to Germany for two weeks on Thursday for his birthday, like we do every summer.

As always, I’ll be blogging about our summer adventures in Germany, so look out for those posts! Here is one fun post from last year.

NoKa Joe’s is right across from the Katonah train station. L loves trains, so of course we had to go to the tracks and wait until at least one passed by. That’s when I shot these pictures.

In this last picture L looks so much older and I see a glimpse of what he will look like as a teenager.

I guess it’s very selfish of me to wish he’ll always be this age :)

I would love to be able to get back to Germany for a visit one day. I was showing my husband several of my volksmarch plates. One day… I hope!

It is always amazing when you see an expression or a photo that makes them look so much older. Time goes so fast. Have a wonderful time in Germany!

I miss the Metro North trains! As an adult I probably shared your son’s childlike wonder!! And don’t feel guilty about wanting to keep him this age – but I do marvel at what has happened between when my kids were his age and now – it’s an adventure!

How quickly they grow – you should make him jump back in that spot every year.

Having two little ones with a son ten years old I can relate to both ages. Yes cherish every moment now with L and then relish as you turn the page into new chapters. It all goes faster and faster! I linked up and look forward to reading the below boob job blog post too!

You’re right! You really can tell what he’s gonna look like. He’s gonna be a handsome young man.

I can see what you mean about what L will look like as a teenager in that last pic. I’m also trying to cherish every moment I can with my kids, while they still fit on my lap, before the teenage years:) Have a fantastic trip to Germany!

These pics of Landon are so sweet. It’s like he’s posing. Too cute! Have fun in Germany, by the way. Can’t wait to see your pics when you get back. :)
