One of my blogging friends, Yakini who writes The Prissy Mommy Chronicles, e-mailed me today to let me know she mentioned me in her latest blog post — Breastfeeding Updates + THANK YOU to Two Awesome Bloggers.
I’m so honored! How sweet was that. I’m so impressed with Yakini, who is a doctor going back to work but is absolutely determined to keep breastfeeding her second son, who was only born three months ago.
I was able to stay home with L and work from home when he got older, so I have the utmost respect for any breastfeeding mom who has to deal with pumping while at work and all the extra work and commitment that entails.
I’m also thrilled that I was mentioned in the same breath as Elita from Blacktating — she is another blogger and lactivist I admire immensely for her commitment to help and inform breastfeeding moms.
I’m no expert, but I know a lot about breastfeeding — and if I don’t, I know where to get the information. I keep track of helpful information and resources on my Breastfeeding page and make a point to retweet a lot of helpful information for parents.
I’m exited to help moms who reach out to me for help and advise. The whole reason for starting Dagmar’s momsense was to empower moms to trust their motherly instincts when it comes to parenting and cheer them on to pursue their passion — be that in the home or outside the home. I’m particularly interested in being the cheerleader and resource for moms who are interested in natural birth, (extended) breastfeeding, and co-sleeping because so many moms lack the support they need to succeed. Hearing that I was able to help Yakini a little absolutely made my day.
While I’m at it, I might as well also mention that I was contacted by Meghan. She and her husband adopted their son three years ago and met his birth mom because of word of mouth. They are hoping to adopt again and were wondering if I can get the word out for them since I have such a large Twitter following.
I’d be happy to help them expand their family by two feet :) While I don’t know Megan and Kenny personally, they seem like a lovely couple that absolutely adores their son they waited for a long time — take a look at the pictures and get more info on their website: Hoping to Expand Our Family by Two Feet! Update: Kenny and Meghan have been able to adopt two more children, yay!
This is what my blog is all about — moms helping moms. It energizes me and makes me stay up until 3 a.m. :) I’m so blessed that I get to do what I’m passionate about. Blogging rocks!
