When Landon decided (demanded) that he wanted to go to the mall last week after we had dropped off my trusty old Honda CRV to get fixed (again), I did not decide that that would be fun. We had a shiny, fast loaner car, so why not? Plus, it was going to be a hot day, perfect for the mall.
Unfortunately, we did not have any fun at all:
I did not spent too much money on a carousel and train ride, lunch, a pretzel, a Starbucks coffee and treat, and some new clothes I needed for Landon so he looks dashing during our Nantucket weekend where my oldest nephew is going to get married. I love second hand clothes for kids, but they just doesn’t cut it for events like that :)
I have not been too busy to blog in the last few weeks. Have you noticed that I haven’t been posting as much as I usually do?
After investing some time to apply for a few freelance and consulting jobs, I got them and am now working more (editing and social media consulting). I’m also getting ready for our Nantucket trip this week and my trip to Germany with Landon in July.
Plus, I was not a little burned out on blogging and wanted to do a few other things, like organizing the house, selling some things we don’t need anymore (cool post to follow), and studying books and magazines for design inspiration.
I love decorating our home, and after falling in love with the new Bravo show 9 by Design, I want to change my design style a bit — from cottage style infused with antiques to more Downtown Chic, like the Novogratz.
Bob and Cortney Novogratz, owners of the NYC based design firm Sixx Design, renovate and sell houses in Manhattan while raising seven! children. I love their use of colorful furniture and art pieces and fearlessness to mix inexpensive and expensive, vintage and modern.
How was your week?
