We did not change our plans for lunch just because L didn’t want to go home and wanted to eat at a restaurant after going to the playground.
We wouldn’t let a 3-year-old dictate where we are going to eat, not us. (Well, we don’t need much nudging, we love to eat out, but we should do it less to conserve precious moola!)
I did not take off Landon’s shoes and socks at the restaurant after discovering that his feet had gotten totally soaked on the playground and now they were ice-cold and pruny.
No, I would never let my little son sit on his naked feet to eat Chinese food in a nice restaurant. Good thing he didn’t demand to run around this time and that we were the only guest besides one other party because it was 4 in the afternoon.
I would never let L have chocolate ice cream after he only had a few bites of the Chinese food to buy time just so Don and I could finish our food in peace. What kind of a mother does that? Not me!
I also did not let him eat his partially hydrogenated-laden fortune cookie. And I would certainly not give him another one upon request.
And it needs to be pointed out that he did not get all of those treats after going to a birthday party in the morning where he ate pizza and cake basically for breakfast. I know, it was one of my more prouder days as a mother :) (Happy Birthday, Abby! I really hope you guys will get married in 25 years!)
