My Favorite Books: Writing Motherhood by Lisa Garrigues

by Dagmar Bleasdale on February 28, 2009

I bought a great book at the Role Mommy event a few days ago, and I can’t put it down. It’s called “Writing Motherhood” by Lisa Garrigues.

It is great for all mothers who want to write and record their experience, but I think it is particularly relevant for us blogging moms!

Sometimes it’s so hard to find the confidence to write or find the time to sit down and put our thoughts on paper. Lisa inspires you to follow your heart and write about our experience as mothers, be it new mothers or mothers with children who have long left the house.

I can’t wait to give copies to my sister-in-laws, Lisa and Maria, who are both writers.

If you are a mother and you are interested in writing, run, don’t walk, to get this book!

I had a friend tell me just the other week (I’m 8 monhts pregnant now) that I looked really good for being pregnant and that all my weight gain was obviously in my belly because my butt and legs weren’t big and my face wasn’t fat but that belly, whew! I guess she had good intentions and was trying to tell me I looked good but I’m soooooo self conscious about the way my body looks right now so that didn’t really help much.
